Northern Trust Appoints Michael Hunstad as President of Asset Management

Northern Trust has named Michael Hunstad as the new President of Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), effective immediately. Hunstad succeeds Daniel Gamba and will report directly to CEO Michael O’Grady. A veteran with 25 years in the industry, Hunstad has been instrumental in shaping NTAM's investment strategy since joining in 2012.

Most recently serving as Global Co-Chief Investment Officer, Hunstad oversaw a diverse portfolio including index, quantitative, and multi-asset class strategies. His leadership extends to managing a global team of over 300 professionals and sitting on key committees such as the Investment Policy Committee and the Risk Committee.

CEO O’Grady emphasized Hunstad's proven track record in driving innovation and growth, positioning NTAM to navigate today's complex markets. The appointment signals Northern Trust's commitment to enhancing asset management capabilities and delivering value to clients.
